Gerald Green can be explosive when he gets hot and apparently he showed that in the Heat’s preseason game against the Wizards.

Green poured in a game-high 28 points, much of it from three-pointers. For the ones who have seen Green unleash his torrid shooting, such a hot shooting night could reach a feverish pitch – including getting out of control with emotions and hand signals which may not always be nice to see.

Though players have that tendency of grandstanding with their usual signature hand signs, Green went a bit overboard with his gun and throat-slash gestures which apparently did not bode well with the folks who saw the game, not to mention the NBA.

And for that Green was meted a hefty price for those obscure gestures - $25,000.

The Heat did win that exhibition match against the Wizards, 110-105. However when everything settled down, Green ended up a loser of sorts with that big fine.

All Green can do now is perhaps charge it to experience and probably put his emotions in check. He is not the only one who does those kinds of menacing gesture of course. Unfortunately he was the one caught on camera so he becomes a prime example of what the NBA will not tolerate.

Green joined the Heat in the offseason after spending 12 seasons with the Suns. He signed up for a one-year deal worth $1.4 million and could be a key contributor for the ballclub this coming season.
