An interesting matchup that will kick off the 2015-16 NBA season is that one pitting the Cavaliers and the Bulls. It will be a rematch of the Eastern Conference Finals which the Cavs won in six games.

However, the opening could be a bit half-cooked with the top two stars of both clubs possibly absent due to injuries.

Hornets Comes Up Short Of Sweeping Preseason Games

Derrick Rose of the Bulls is still recovering after undergoing surgery for a fractured left orbital while James has been bothered lately by an old back injury. Both have been sidelined from the preseason tiffs and such could radiate until the opening or even the early part of the schedule of both teams.

James could come out and play but it would depend on how fit he is come October 28. He has already gotten anti-inflammatory injections which would normally require him to sit out two weeks.

James was around doing some light workouts though it hardly indicates him likely being ready for the season opener. A safe scenario could be to see him play though it may be limited.

On the other end, Rose’s case is far different. Swelling may have subsided and Rose says that he has adjusted to playing with the protected mask.

But it is more of his vision that comes as a concern, recently saying that he was experiencing double-vision since reporting back to practice after surgery.

Unlike the case of James, Rose could be sitting the opener out unless he proves otherwise.
