Steelers fans don’t want to see Landry Jones under center on Sunday, and neither does Ben Roethlisberger.

Still recovering from a knee injury, Roethlisberger was limited in practice Thursday, but showed signs of a potential return. Originally projected to miss four-to-six weeks, the Steelers QB is hoping to push that diagnosis a few days.

His teammates, however, are expecting a more pragmatic approach.

“They are going to be smart with him and they should,” center Cody Wallace said about Roethlisberger, per ESPN. “They’ll do what’s best for him as far as his long-term health.

“We need him for that long stretch at the end of the season.”

Steelers fans aren’t willing to be that patient.

Fortunately for the Steelers, these are the Chiefs they’re playing Sunday. The cauldron that is Arrowhead Stadium is less daunting when the occupants are a measly 1-5. Jones -- despite his limited action -- proved to be capable enough on Sunday.

Despite Roethlisberger and the fan’s wishes, there's no need to rush a franchise QB back from injury.

The 100-percent rule should remain in effect.
