The good news for the Cowboys is Dez Bryant was in full pads Thursday, making one-handed grabs. The bad news for the Cowboys is it won’t be enough to make a difference on Sunday.
Matt Cassel Will Take Unnecessary Risks
Dallas travels to New York for a rematch of its 27-26 win over the Giants in Week 1. A healthy-enough Bryant gives naive Cowboys fans some hope at MetLife Stadium. What it doesn’t do, however, is bring back Tony Romo.
For all his greatness, Bryant will still be forced to catch passes from Matt Cassel. That’s not exactly a winning combination.
Draya Michele To Blame For Orlando Scandrick's Injury
Beware... Dez Bryant is back participating in practice fielding grounders from Matt Cassel. He's going to be so angry at him...#cowboys

Since replacing an injured Tom Brady in 2008, Cassel is 23-33 as a starter, completing just 57.7 percent of his passes, per NFL.com. His 70 TDs to 54 INTs dropped his passer rating to 77.6.
A hobbled WR on one foot isn’t the best way to remedy his mediocrity -- and that’s if Bryant even plays.
Jason Garrett hasn’t ruled him out for Sunday, but he hasn’t confirmed his participation, either.

Not to mention, the Giants were one Eli Manning mistake away from beating a full-strength Cowboys in Week 1, so there’s no need for raised expectations.
The oddsmakers -- who favor the Giants by -3.5 -- are on the money whether Bryant plays or not.
