Cam Newton’s affinity for the media continued on Wednesday. The Panthers QB -- when asked of the media’s doubt surrounding the Panthers -- provided a comical response of his own.

Ranking The Undefeated Teams In The NFL

"No offense, but I find all media comical at times," Newton said, per NFL.com. "I think your guys' profession, you can easily take back what you say. There's no danger when somebody says it. ... If it was a pay cut or if it was an incentive, if picking teams each and every week you may get a raise, I guarantee it, people would watching what they say then.

"They should have an incentive if you make a bold statement. If you're correct, you get an x-amount increase. But if you make a bold statement and it goes the other way, you get deducted. Going straight to the Cam Newton Foundation."

QBs Who Should Never Have Been Drafted

Can the same rules apply to his quarterbacking?

Say Newton makes a bold pass, if it’s complete, he gets an x-amount increase. But if he makes a bold pass and it goes the other way, he gets deducted. Going straight to the owner’s pockets.

Admittedly, the media has been reckless in its assessment of the Panthers this season. A 27-23 victory over the Seahawks last Sunday served as a signature win and should change the narrative surrounding the team.

But the media has only been as reckless as Newton has been under center.

The former No. 1-overall pick has thrown double-digit INTs in each of his first four seasons and has as many playoff TDs as he has playoff INTs (five).

He still collects his full paycheck. Why shouldn’t the media?
