And then there's James Harden.

Lost in the media frenzy about Khloe Kardashian calling off her divorce with ailing husband Lamar Odom is the jilted ex-boyfriend and Rockets star.

James Harden Spotted Out With Another Woman

Harden, who reportedly was more than understanding when his girlfriend rushed to the bedside of her nearly-dying estranged husband, was understandably shocked about the latest turn of events, according to HollywoodLife.com.

"This is a complete 180 for James," a source told Hollywood Life. "Khloe deciding to call off her divorce. Wow. He's speechless."

Another source close to the couple echoed Harden's reaction to the website.

"James was fine with giving Khloe time and space to deal with Lamar but never thought she would call off the divorce," the source said. "James legitimately thought that they were still an item but this obviously makes things loud and clear that he is yesterday's news."

The news, however, might not be the worst thing to happen to the 2015 NBA Most Valuable Player runner-up.

Over the summer reports indicated his friends were wary of what a relationship with Kardashian might do to the NBA superstar. Multiple rumors have been reported about infidelity on his part, and the 2015-16 NBA season is just starting, leaving him one fewer distractions to worry about.

"Who knows, maybe they'll pick up the pieces when Lamar's better," a source said in another HollwoodLife.com report. "Maybe not. But just like Khloe, James has a lot on his plate, too. His main focus since the preseason began is to win this season's NBA championship! He's in the zone right now and the fewer distractions he has in life at this point, the better."

While the unlikely pairing did add to Harden's stature -- he was able to sign a 13-year, $200 million deal with Adidas -- he might have saved himself from having to live his live constantly in front of cameras by being associated with the Kardashians.
