This week's episode of Monday Night RAW may have been a sign of things to come as Seth Rollins was reluctantly forced into a mini Shield reunion.
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion joined forces with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to take on The Wyatt Family in the main event of the WWE's flagship show, which could be a hint at his rumored face turn. To be fair, "The Architect" wasn't acting like a babyface, but the angle could lead to his eventual change of character.
It has been expected for months that Rollins will eventually feud with Triple H. "The Game" thrust The Authority's golden boy into teaming with his former Shield stablemates after some convincing from WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. The Authority also forced Rollins to defend his gold against Demon Kane at Hell in a Cell this Sunday, further forming cracks in the foundation.
The WWE also swapped out Rollins' Curb Stomp finisher in favor of The Pedigree, something which is sure to come back into play at some point once these two begin their rumored rivalry. It's likely the WWE is planting the seeds to have "The Architect" eventually turn face to battle the COO down the line.
10 Booking Decisions WWE Should Make At Hell In A Cell
Whether or not that leads to a full-on Shield reunion remains to be seen. Rollins was the one who blew the group up when the WWE booked his heel turn in June 2014, so it would be hard for them to explain why his former Hounds of Justice partners would take him back with open arms.
Still, with it being the ridiculous world of sports entertainment, the WWE expects fans to have limited memories sometimes and to except faulty logic.
The creative team will likely book a slow turn for Rollins with the rift with Triple H taking its time to form for the rest of 2015. It's probable that by early 2016 the splinters in the relationship will grow, leading to Rollins turning face by either splitting from The Authority or getting attacked from Triple H.
From there, the two could clash at WrestleMania 32 in Texas on April, 3, 2016. The WWE could also use that time to repair the relationship between The Shield.
After Monday Night RAW, it might time to believe in The Shield again.
