David Wilson Takes Shot At Fans? [PHOTO] Giants RB Lashes Out On Twitter At Angry Giants Fans [VIDEO]; Da'Rel Scott Hurt In Practice

New York Giants running back David Wilson had a rough night on primetime television in their Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, when he fumbled twice and earned a benching from head coach Tom Coughlin.

Wilson, who entered the season with questions about his fumbling and unreliable pass protection, took out his frustrations on critical fans via Twitter. A miffed Wilson said tweeted, "Ayy to fantasy participants and pissed Giants fans ur irrelevant to me!!! Nobody wants me to succeed more than ME!!! WATCH US WORK!"

Wilson is likely fighting a losing battle by taking shots at frustrated fans, but his own teammate Victor Cruz has recovered from a spat with the Big Blue faithful. When asked about Wilson's tweet by Newsday, Cruz offered some advice to the embattled running back. Wilson did seem to realize his misstep, and offered something of a peace tweet to the fans as a follow up. "S/O to all our supporters and big blue nation lets go get these wins the fans deserve every win we get #wegongetit."

"Obviously Giants fans are very vocal and at the time they weren't as thrilled with my performance that day as I had hoped," Cruz said. "They let me hear their opinions via Twitter and Facebook and things like that. But shortly after I started to do better, and those things change. People are going to say what they're going to say, good bad or indifferent. We have to be able to work through that."

The Giants may have trouble trusting Wilson at the moment, but they really don't have many great options behind him. Projected backup Andre Brown fractured his leg in the preseason, and Da'Rel Scott is now said to be dealing with a knee injury sustained in practice today.

To shore up their depth, the Giants worked out several running backs including Willis McGahee, Michael Turner and Joe McKnight, but settled on former power back and two-time Super Bowl champ Brandon Jacobs.
