The last thing that the Lakers and Warriors want right now is another man down due to injury and a slippery floor is certainly not going to help in avoiding such a problem.
Whether the basketball fans present on hand when the two teams collided at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif. like it or not, the decision to call off the preseason game is in the best interest of everyone involved.

The poor floor conditions were apparently too much of a risk for the players taking the court, many of whom were already slipping on wet spots. So by the time the third quarter came, a fall by Warriors Leandro Barbosa was the last straw.
The Lakers were ahead at that point, 85-70, with only 2:16 left, but after the Barbosa slip, Lakers head coach Byron Scott and Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton agreed that the preseason game should be stopped.

Not too many were of course happy with it despite it being just a preseason game. But considering the probability of seeing stars like Stephen Curry suffering from potential injury, stopping the match was certainly the best resolve for it.
The good news is that the Lakers will be giving full refunds to fans after 12 p.m. Monday. So in essence, fans didn’t really go home feeling robbed.
Fans that attended tonight's shortened game in San Diego can get a full refund after 12pm Monday at point-of-purchase.

Both teams took the floor with key players already nursing injuries. Kobe Bryant had already been ruled out with a bruised lower left leg, while Warriors forward Harrison Barnes is already sidelined with a right knee bone bruise.
With both key players already out and the regular season fast approaching, losing more players to injury is something both teams would not want.
