The NFL wants to honor women battling breast cancer because they have to, not because they want to. DeAngelo Williams is living proof.
Big Ben Trying To Come Back Sooner Than Expected
Williams -- whose mother lost the battle to breast cancer in 2014 -- has been covering himself with as much pink as possible since Oct. 1. He petitioned the NFL to give him permission to wear pink beyond the end of October.
The league denied his request.
People Are Still Talking About Kordell Stewart
Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams wanted to wear pink all season to honor his mother who lost her battle with breast cancer. The NFL said no.

The denial shouldn't come as a surprise. The NFL’s relationship with women has been tone deaf since its inception. It took video evidence for Roger Goodell to severely punish Ray Rice.
Greg Hardy is still employed and objectifying women left and right.
Guys, take Tom Brady in Fanduel. He's gonna light up Dallas for 50+. Hardy is an absolute idiot pic.twitter.com/MTtLKmL0PZ

But then again, this is the NFL -- a soulless, heartless monopoly only concerned with record profits. Anything -- including honoring a fallen mother -- is irrelevant.
*Hates a place that gives women affordable breast cancer screenings but buys pink NFL gear (which only gives 8% to breast cancer awareness)*
