Tell Andrew Luck football is no longer in his future, see how strong his reaction is. Try and take away the game from Tom Brady, watch him take you to court. Four neck surgeries weren't even enough to keep Peyton Manning from returning to the gridiron.

But threaten to take away football from Colin Kaepernick...meh. He doesn't care.

Kurt Warner To Blame For Kaepernick's Regression

"I don't play for job security," Kaepernick said Wednesday, per ESPN. "Whether football is here or not, I will be fine.

"I go out; I play to win. I'm not worried about job security when I step in this building."

49ers Fans Giving Kaepernick Heat On Twitter

"Whether football is here or not, I will be fine," words no legendary QB would dare utter.

Admittedly, Kaepernick is right in the literal sense. He will be fine.

Even if he fails to bank on his $126 million contract, he could receive as little as $25.9 million, per Business Insider. That's $25 million more than the writer of this article will ever make. Financially, the 49ers QB is in a prime position to look after his family for generations to come.

But in a football sense, Kaepernick is far from fine.

His lackadaisical approach to the real threats surrounding his job security is alarming.

A franchise QB -- one who received a $126 million investment -- should be consumed with the sport. The idea of a posthumous life without football should never cross his mind.

It shows a sign of maturity, one you'd expect from the man leading your offense.

It's a sign of maturity still missing from Kaepernick's game, and unless he shows it, he'll end his career knowing he only lived up to 20 percent of his potential and just 20 percent of his contract.
