Subbing for Andrew Luck, Matt Hasselbeck is going to need a little bit of luck of his own.

Multiple sources have indicated that Hasselbeck will suit up under center for the Colts when they take on the Texans on "Thursday Night Football" to kick-off Week 5, but Luck is set to do some throwing on the side. Luck is out with a mysterious shoulder injury and while it isn't certain just how severe he's hurt, the incumbent signal caller will miss his second straight game.

Colts Being Smart With Andrew Luck

As if Hasselbeck replacing one of the greatest quarterbacks in the game wasn't alarming enough, it gets worse with the news that the 40-year-old journeyman was in the hospital two days ago suffering from a virus.

It all spells doomsday for the Colts as Hasselbeck prepares to navigate a game with J.J. Watt and company breathing down his neck. The odds makers have taken notice, too.

The game between these two wayward teams opened up as a pick 'em, but now Indianapolis is a five-point underdog with the news breaking that Hasselbeck will be under center, according to Pregame.com. The Colts started out 0-2 this season, but have won their last two games, which includes a contest against the Jaguars last week with Hasselbeck under center.

The signal caller had a 63.83 completion percentage in the game while throwing for 282 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Indianapolis didn't exactly set the world on fire against lowly Jacksonville (1-3), eking out a 16-13 victory.

The Texans are off to a 1-3 start this season, but a defensive charge that boasts Watt is a frightening proposition for a 40-year-old quarterback who isn't fully healthy.

Hasselbeck and the Colts may be Texas toast.
