Things have gotten pretty heated between Thunder star Kevin Durant and ESPN talking head Stephen A. Smith, over the latter's report that Durant was leaning toward signing with the Los Angeles Lakers after the season if he decided to leave Oklahoma City. After a few days, Smith is starting to walk back the rhetoric just a bit.

“Kevin Durant and I are just fine, just fine,” Smith said to TMZ.

Durant took exception to Smith’s report last week, and said Smith was “making up stories.”

Smith did not appreciate the harsh response, and became deathly serious on First Take, personally addressing the former MVP about the dangers of making Smith an enemy.

“You don’t want to make an enemy out of me. And I’m gonna look right into the camera, and say it again. You do not want to make an enemy out of me. I’m not having it,” Smith said before rattling off his credentials, and previous times he has spoken with Durant.

Smith’s comments today were the first since his First Take rant on Monday, and will probably be the last words he speaks on the matter. So far, Durant has remained silent on the matter as well since his initial tweet, which fanned the flames.
