Darrelle Revis' Friend Ty Law Rips The Jets And Their Receivers [VIDEO]

While many people have been critical of the Jets, Ty Law took it to a whole new level. The former New York Jets player and close friend of Darrelle Revis ripped on the team and its receivers in a recent interview.

Revis, who now plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following an offseason trade with the Jets in exchange for two draft picks last April, will get his first chance in a Tampa Bay uniform by going up against his former team, and Law apparently doesn't think too highly of the Jets, even saying that he thinks Revis should sit out to further heal his surgically repaired knee because the Jets are so inferior.

"I don't think the Jets team or the receivers are even worthy of him coming out for this game," Law said in an interview with Sports Illustrated. "He could've had the bad knee and covered these guys. He should sit out this game and wait to make a real splash."

The video of Law's rant on the Jets can be seen here.

Law, who is a close friend of Revis since they grew up together in Aliquippa, Pa. and live near each other in south Florida, went on, attacking the Jets.

"He is absolutely the best and wants to play the best, and I think you're going to get the best out of him if he respects the other guy," Law told SI. "But I don't think he respects anybody on the Jets and then -- you never know -- what are they even playing for? I mean, they're the type of team that might wanna get [him] hurt or try to take him out or something like that. So, I wouldn't even play him because they're not worthy."

Law, a retired defensive back, played for the Jets from 2005-08, but also won three Super Bowls for their AFC East rival New England Patriots.

Revis played with Law during the Jets 2008 season.

Revis will be appearing in his first game since a severe knee injury cut what proved to be his final season with the Jets short last September. The corner missed the entire preseason but is ready to go for Week 1 as he looks to shut down his opposing receivers and former teammates.

The Jets receiving corps, which Law took aim at, consists mostly of Santonio Holmes, who is coming off of an injury and will be used in a limited role, Jeremy Kerley and Stephen Hill.

Law played his final season with the Denver Broncos in 2009, and has played in 203 games and recorded 53 interceptions for 828 yards with seven touchdowns 713 tackles and five sacks.

Revis, who spent his entire career with the Jets from 2007-12, has played in 79 games and notched 19 interceptions for 364 yards with 241 tackles.
