Sean Avery has gone from agitating players on the ice to getting under the skin of police.
The former hockey tough guy and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant was arrested last week in the Hamptons on a count of criminal mischief and another charge for possession of narcotics, according to the Southampton Press. Avery, 35, was arrested on Sept. 30 and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Per the report, the criminal mischief charge stemmed from the day before, when Avery allegedly threw objects at passing vehicles. Police said they couldn't specify when the incident took place, but police radio transmissions indicated that Avery had contacted authorities about speeding vehicles in the area. It seems when nothing was done about it, the former left-winger took matters into his own hands.
When Avery was pulled over for a routine traffic stop, he had prescription pills on him, which were later determined to be acetaminophen with oxycodone and roxicodone. All of the charges against the Canadian were misdemeanors.

Avery was released on $500 bail and is expected back in court at a later date. If he had any aspirations of possibly returning to the ice, that is now on hold. The puck is set to drop on the 2015-16 NHL season with four games Wednesday night.
