According to TheMMQB.com, Tim Tebow was asked by an unspecified NFL team whether or not he'd switch positions, but he declined to make the change.
While Tebow's future in the NFL is uncertain, his distaste for a change of positions appears evident.
During his stint with New England, Tebow only played quarterback despite many expectations that he could take some snaps at tight end. It seems as though Tebow doesn't have any plans to switch positions anytime soon, and with reports indicating he turned down an opportunity to possibly get another crack at the NFL by making the switch, he wasn't interested.
Tebow was cut last weekend, and Bill Belichick admitted it was tough to cut anyone:
The switching of positions isn't the first change that Tebow balked at.
NFL.com reports that Tebow turned down an offer to change sports and play for USA Rugby and he even tweeted his stance following his Patriots release last weekend, noting that his only dream is to be a quarterback in the NFL, and he'll continue to pursue it.
Another change that Tebow turned down was a possible opportunity to switch leagues and play in the Canadian Football League.
Reports from CBS Sports last week indicated that another option for Tebow could be the CFL, but the quarterback seems to have no interest in joining the league. The Montreal Alouettes, which own the rights to Tebow, also expressed little interest in bringing him aboard last week and team general manager and coach Jim Popp said he's never even spoken to him.
"We've never had a conversation with him or his representation," Popp told CBS Sports Monday, adding there won't be one unless Tebow or his management initiates it. "It's all for talk and there's nothing there, there's no substance to it."
Tebow hasn't truly made it at quarterback, despite leading the Denver Broncos to an AFC West division title with an 8-8 record in 2011 as well as a stunning wildcard overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in that year's playoffs. It's hard to tell if he'd be better suited for another position or if his days in the NFL are done altogether.
So, for now Tebow won't switch positions, sports or leagues and he's searching for a new home to continue his dream of being a professional quarterback in the NFL, but it's unknown if he'll generate any interest.
In his three-year NFL career, Tebow has played in 35 games, going 173-for-361 for 2,422 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
