Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may not want to smell what his former peers were cooking.

The Rock was a pretty crappy wrestler when he started out -- and he literally almost ate poop for it backstage.

5 Rumors & Storylines For Monday Night RAW

Mark Henry appeared on Chris Jericho's "Talk is Jericho" podcast and revealed that there were a lot of people backstage who didn't care for The Rock in the early stages of his career. The eight-time WWE Champion came from humble beginnings in the squared circle, as fans quickly turned on his babyface gimmick, going so far as to chant "Die Rocky, Die" at the future People's Champion.

Turns out, he was just as hated backstage, as Henry said his peers almost had him eat crap in his early days in the WWE.

"It was different back then," Henry said. "...People putting crap in people's food boxes. Real s--t. [It happened] to Dwayne. I saw it happen and people were like, 'Shh, don't tell, come on the rib is on him.' No, you crazy? You putting s--t in somebody's food. Ask [The Rock] about it. He'll tell you."

Henry went on to say there were a lot of cliques backstage and that it was "like being in jail" during the early part of the Attitude Era.

"I had to keep [The Rock] from getting killed," Henry added, "because he was gonna get jumped. You know, it was cliquish back then. You had the clique, the BSK, the whole Puerto Rican crew, everybody was geared up. And you mess with one, you mess with all."

Henry was a stablemate of The Rock when they were in the Nation of Domination together, just after the "Brahma Bull" underwent a character change to revitalize his career. The "World's Strongest Man" wouldn't include names of people that put crap in Johnson's food, but he said he had no problem sharing the stories.

Now, it appears The Rock has made everyone else eat s--t as he's not only one of the most popular Superstars ever, but he went on to become a huge name in Hollywood, starring in several hit blockbuster movies.
