If you ask everyone -- including Shaq -- the Heisman Trophy has already been decided. Every player in the country shouldn’t bother lacing their cleats on Saturday. The award for college football’s best player already belongs to Leonard Fournette.
Heisman Trophy Favorites & Dark Horses
Except it doesn’t, it’s only October and C.J. Prosise will have his say Saturday night.
Admittedly, Fournette is riding historic form. The LSU RB has 631 yards rushing through three games. Should he manage to rack up an additional 369 yards on Saturday -- plausible considering Eastern Michigan concedes 373 yards rushing on average -- he will become the fastest RB to reach 1,000 yards rushing in NCAA history.
Hiring Lane Kiffin As A Head Coach Is The Worst Idea Imaginable
If Les MIles wants it to happen, L Fournette could become 1st player to 1,000 yds in 4 games - NCAA record. https://t.co/V7giE8lR6L

But the reality is the stage that awaits Prosise.
The national stage belongs to the Notre Dame RB on Saturday. He’s fifth in the country with 600 rushing yards and as naturally gifted a runner the program has ever seen.
“He's a natural runner," said Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly, per WNDU.com. "If he wasn't, I don't think that he could have been ascending in the manner that he is.
"He's ascended quickly, and so I think we've got to credit the athlete himself as a natural runner of the football."
@KirkHerbstreit If Fournette is a lock for Heisman with 631 over 73 carries why isn't Prosise considered with 600 over 74? Never played RB..

A standout victory in Death Valley on Saturday, and everyone in the country will award the same credit.
