Fantasy football is often about the bargains, and daily fantasy football even more so. Here are some backup players that will be seeing significant playing time because the star players ahead of them on the depth chart are injured.

Running Backs

Karlos Williams, Bills: Williams has been fantasy-relevant even with LeSean McCoy and his one working leg hogging up carries. Last week Williams managed 100 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. He has another juicy matchup this week vs. the Giants, and McCoy has been ruled out.

Breaking Down Thomas Rawls vs. Fred Jackson In Seahawks Backfield

Thomas Rawls, Seahawks: Rawls is the younger, and fresher, option behind Marshawn Lynch in Seattle. “Beast Mode” is just a 50/50 proposition on Monday night with a bad hamstring, so even if he suits up, expect the Seahawks to go easy on him with the workload.

Alfred Blue, Texans: Arian Foster might come back this week, but it’s unlikely that a full workload will be thrust upon him. With 31 carries last week Blue finally exploded for 139 yards and a touchdown. Don’t expect that, but he’ll matter again in Week 4.

Wide Receivers

Rueben Randle, Giants: Randle went off last week, and now that Victor Cruz will miss more time after re-aggravating his calf injury, Randle should continue to be heavily featured in the Giants’ passing game. His seven-catch, 116-yard performance was on the high end of what you’ll get, but he doesn’t cost much.

Eddie Royal, Bears: Royal only saw three targets last week without Alshon Jeffrey in the lineup, but this week will be different. The Bears are up against the Raiders’ weak secondary, not Seattle’s “Legion of Boom.” Royal will lead the team in targets – unless TE Martellus Bennett dominates – and he will most likely find the end zone at least once.
