The last time Marc and Pau Gasol both were mentioned in connection with the Grizzlies, Memphis was sending Pau to the Lakers and getting Marc in return.

The younger Gasol, now one of the Grizzlies leaders, says he believes his team will make a run at his brother when his current contract with the Bulls expires, Larry Brown Sports reports, via HoopsHype and EuropaPress.

Lakers Coach Byron Scott Says L.A. "Way Ahead Of Schedule"

"It's not impossible that one day we could play together," said the Grizzlies center. "I think he has two more years in Chicago and I think it's difficult that he would leave the team, I wouldn't like it. But for us, and for Memphis to add someone like Pau, it would be unbelievable. We will try. Why not?"

Marc, who will turn 31 in January, just signed a five-year, $110 million extension to stay in Memphis, so it would have to be the 35-year-old Pau who likely would have to move to play with his brother before he retires.

"Pau does indeed have two years remaining on his deal with the Bulls, but the final year is a player option which he can decline and become a free agent next offseason," Larry Brown Sports reported.

Pau averaged 18.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game in six-plus seasons with the Grizzlies -- his first NBA team -- before Memphis traded him for the rights to Marc, who had not yet played for the Lakers. Marc joined Memphis in 2008-09.

In six seasons with the Grizzlies, Marc has averaged 14.1 points and 7.9 rebounds. He averaged a career-high 17.4 points in Memphis last season.

The trade worked out well for both teams. The Lakers advanced to three straight NBA finals with Pau, winning the last two in 2009 and 2010.

The Grizzlies reloaded around Marc, advancing to the playoffs the last five seasons after missing the playoffs the previous four.
