Darrelle Revis Leaking New York Jets Secrets? Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cornerback Says He's Sharing Jets Strategies To Team Prior To Bucs/Jets Week 1 Game [VIDEO]

When the New York Jets traded top cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, perhaps the team didn't fully realize what they gave up.

Revis knows the Jets inside and out, and ahead of their Week 1 match-up, he's spilling the beans.

Revis, who will return to MetLife stadium for his first game with the Buccaneers in a faceoff with his old team, told ESPN Wednesday that he's been telling his coaches and teammates about the Jets' strategies and playbook heading into Sunday's clash. Revis has also prepped his team's secondary on what to expect from the Jets receivers.

"I know these guys," Revis told ESPN. "I played against them every day in practice. I've got a bunch of tips on those guys and the good thing about it is I've been sharing them with our secondary. We'll come into this game real comfortable just from the experience I had there and knowing these guys."

Revis, who played for the Jets for his entire career from 2007-12, won't be facing off against former teammate Mark Sanchez as Jets 2013 first-round draft pick (39th overall) Geno Smith will be under center with the reigns to the offense for Week 1 and possibly going forward, as Sanchez is still recovering from an injured shoulder suffered in the fourth quarter of the team's Week 3 preseason victory over the New York Giants.

Reports this week indicated that it's possible that Jets brass have given up on Sanchez and Smith may be the starter going forward, though it remains to be seen what will happen when Sanchez returns.

A video of Jets head coach Rex Ryan discussing the decision to go with Smith can be seen here.

Revis found it funny, according to ESPN, that Smith didn't study any film on the 28 year old cornerback, who many consider to be the best in the league.

"I don't understand why he didn't study me because I will be on the opposite side," Revis joked to ESPN.

Still, Revis isn't holding anything back in regards to playing his old team.

"It's just one of those things, when a player comes from another team, [offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan] is asking a couple of questions about [the Jets'] defense and what are the base calls, I spill them," Revis said per ESPN.

Revis played in just two games last year, suffering a torn ACL in the team's second game of the season, but still mounted an interception. In a fully healthy year in 2011, Revis had four interceptions for 184 yards in 16 games. In his career, Revis has mounted 19 interceptions for 364 yards with three touchdowns and 241 tackles.

Revis will try to further cement his legacy as one of the league's premiere corners at the expense of his old team and rookie singal caller Smith on Sunday.
