Dolph Ziggler has toiled in the midcard for far too long now. It's time for the WWE to turn him heel and give him the richest prize in sports entertainment.

"The Showoff" first captured the World Heavyweight Championship in February 2011, but the reign was a joke and he dropped it that same night back to Edge. Ziggler then won it a second time in April 2013 on the RAW after WrestleMania by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase, but an injury cut that reign short.

Seth Rollins Should Stay Champion Until WrestleMania

Since that last derailed push, Ziggler has been held down by WWE creative despite being completely over with the audience, solid in the ring and having the look of a champion. The company needs to strike while the iron is still hot and give the Superstar with the golden locks a run with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Now that there is only one World Title, a reign for Ziggler would mean so much more and it would help the WWE increase its ratings. Seth Rollins has been a fine champion and should hold the title until WrestleMania 32, but after that, it's time for the four-time Intercontinental Champion to have his day in the sun.

Undertaker's 6 Best Cell Matches

The WWE has already planted the seeds for a Ziggler heel turn on "Total Divas," and though keeping that entity separate from the other WWE shows is a good move, this could be the exception. With the 2012 Money in the Bank winner putting the moves on Nikki Bella (can you blame him?), the WWE may continue to blur the lines of reality by bringing the arc over to RAW.

This would then draw the ire of Bella's real-life boyfriend John Cena, causing Ziggler to turn heel and enter a lengthy program with the biggest babyface in the business. The rub from that feud would then catapult "The Showoff" into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture.

Ziggler has gotten himself into trouble with his mouth backstage with the WWE suits, but the company needs to put his acid tongue to good use by making him a heel and handing him a microphone to vent. Plus with the rumored Rollins face turn, a Feud of the Year candidate is in the making.

Ziggler and Rollins would absolutely tear the house down. Thank us later, WWE creative.
