John Cena and Nikki Bella haven't had their real-life relationship transfer into WWE storylines, aside from "Total Divas," but that may be changing soon, if the Twitter war between the longest Divas Champion in history and Lana is any indication.

On the season finale of "Total Divas," which airs Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET, Dolph Ziggler flirts with Bella, who he used to date in real life before she began seeing Cena. Ziggler is dating Lana in WWE storylines and the "Ravishing Russian" took to Twitter and got into an in-character dustup with Bella.

To get the confusion out of the way (or at least attempt to), Bella's relationship with Cena is real, while Ziggler's courtship of Lana is not. "The Showoff's" past relationship with Bella is real, while Lana is really dating Rusev. Got it? Don't worry, we'll wait.

Anyway, the arc of Lana getting involved with Bella has led to some speculation that the "Cenation" leader may get added to the storylines somewhere down the line. Here's why it makes sense for all involved.

3 Ways To Add John Cena, Nikki Bella Into Storylines Together

John Cena

The United States Champion could use a change of character, whether that is turning heel or just pairing with his girlfriend to give him more of an edge. Now that his program with Seth Rollins is over with, he has no current storylines aside from his U.S. open challenges. One way to rectify this would be to pair him with Bella and go forward with the mixed tag.

Nikki Bella

After losing her Divas Championship, the tide is beginning to change for Bella as she is no longer the focal point of WWE storylines. She's still part of the Divas Revolution with her Team Bella clique, but a change of pace would be good for her.

Dolph Ziggler

"The Showoff" still has some unfinished business with Rusev (as Lana does with Summer Rae), but that feud eventually will have to blow-off and he'll need something new. Fans have been clamoring for Ziggler to get pushed into the main event, and a feud with the likes of Cena would be a great jumping-off point to restore the four-time Intercontinental Champion's standing in the WWE ranks.

Lana

The "Ravishing Russian" is nursing a hand injury, but there have been plenty of rumors that the WWE envisions her as its breakout star in the Divas division. If the company wants to thrust her back into the ring, they can do so with the protection of a mixed tag team match. It's likely once she heals, the organization will have her and Ziggler finish their arc with Rusev and Summer Rae first, but after that, she could move onto Bella, with the possible inclusion of Cena.
