Gregg Popovich is just as bored with training camp as anyone else, that's why he had to have some fun in an area where he normally finds no joy -- interviews.

NBA TV's Jared Greenberg spoke (or attempted to) with the Spurs head coach and the usually salty Popovich was even more aggressive than usual.

Here are some of his best responses to Greenberg, who to his credit held his own against the curmudgeon.

On keeping his beard for a second straight season: "Obviously. Are there gonna be some questions here you're gonna ask me, or what are we gonna do? The beard? Come on, let's get to the basketball."

On speeding up the process and talking about losing camaraderie with new faces coming in: "I don't remember saying that, I think you made that up. I have no idea what you're talking about."

On scouting and knowing LaMarcus Aldridge: "Nothing. I haven't seen him. I didn't talk to him too much; we just talked about who we are."

It made for some uncomfortable moments in the interview, which spanned nearly two minutes.

Maybe the five-time NBA champion and three-time Coach of the Year has shed a little sliver of that cold streak he carries toward the media, because he hugged it out with Greenberg and revealed he was just messing around with him.

"I'm screwing with you because I'm just getting ready for the season," Popovich said. "See, so that's why I'm doing this. You can cancel all this stuff, now we can start the real interview."

Training camp isn't just for the players on the court. After a long offseason, Popovich had to spruce up his interview game by showing just the right amount of disdain.
