EA Sports took a creative route to making amends with angry fans.

The NHL video game franchise is always one of the most popular games and one feature that players love is the EASHL, which allows gamers to play each other online. When it came time to release NHL 15 last year, there were many complications in putting the feature in the game for PS4 and Xbox One, so EA Sports left it out of the game.

This pissed off a lot of people.

Gamers were irate with the lack of inclusion of the mode, and they were very vocal about it online. Creators of NHL 15 took a proactive route to fixing the problem by trying to explain the difficulties that led to them keeping it out of those new consoles.

EA Vancouver then took it a bit further, bringing in select fans to share their input on the development of NHL 16 in hopes to avoid more backlash with the new game, according to The Daily Dot.

The group of gamers got together to help make the best game possible and it was a long process with a few bumps in the road along the way. Eventually, all the kinks were worked out and NHL 16 came out on Sept. 15 to many positive reviews.

Still, there was some concern that it would be hard to win the fan base back. Sean Ramjagsingh, who is known as "Rammer" in the gaming community, is one of the producers of the NHL series, and he joked about deflecting the blame on the Game Changers.

"One of the things that Rammer was joking with us about on one of the last days in September," Game Changer Tyler Horsfall said, "was that he brought us on because, 'Hey, if the game's a failure, then people can look at [the Game Changers] for it.' We're all in this together."
