Tim Tebow could be forgiven for feeling disrespected by the NFL, and Chip Kelly in particular.

Tebow, on his way to Gainesville, Fla., to broadcast the Florida-Tennessee football game on Saturday, would not commit to giving the NFL another shot when asked by TMZ Sports.

Asked directly whether he was going to "try and do football some more," Tebow said only, "you always just figure out the next step, but I enjoy it."

The TMZ interviewer then asked again, and when pressed for an answer, Tebow responded, "right now, I'm just trying to get on a plane."

Tim Tebow Named As Possible Replacement In Dallas Over Tony Romo's Injury

The former Florida Gator and Heisman Trophy-winning quartetrback appeared to be on his way to a return to the NFL after a two-year hiatus during his tryout with the Eagles.

Tebow and Matt Barkley had been engaged in a battle for third-string status. After the final preseason game in which Tebow shined, the Eagles traded Barkley to the Cardinals, and outlets speculated Tebow had won the position.

But Kelly, the Eagles coach, made a somewhat surprising move by announcing the team would only carry two quarterbacks on its active roster -- even though starter Sam Bradford has a history of being injury-prone.

Kelly didn't even sign Tebow to the practice roster, opting instead for former Miami QB Stephen Morris. Kelly subsequently dropped Morris and signed veteran Thad Lewis earlier this week, Pro Football Talk reported.

Even though Tebow seemed a bit put off by TMZ's questions, he remained friendly, telling the crew, "God bless you, man. Ya'll take care."
