Tonight’s Week 3 Thursday night football matchup is between the Giants and the Redskins at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Here, you’ll find the stars you should play, who to stay away from, and some real deals in the bargain bin.

Feel Free To Play

Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Giants (FanDuel/$9,100, Draft Kings/$9,000): Beckham is matchup proof. You should feel free to play him any week, even against the best of the best corners the NFL has to offer. Washington does not have such a cornerback, so expect ODB to go off.

Draft Kings Best Bargains At Each Position For Week 3

Jordan Reed, TE, Redskins (FanDuel/$5,300, Draft Kings/$3,800): Reed is heavily targeted, and facing a defense without good linebackers or safeties. It’s a cake matchup for Reed, who is essentially a wide receiver who lines up on the line of scrimmage sometimes.

Alfred Morris, RB, Redskins (FanDuel/$6,600, Draft Kings/$4,700): Believe it or not, the Giants are actually above average vs. the run through two games. That said, Morris is not the type of back that gets completely shut down. He was dominant in Week 1, and even though Week 2 he looked obsolete compared to teammate Matt Jones, Morris is a threat each week to score more than once. Play him with confidence, but he’s better in FanDuel where receptions are less important.

FanDuel Best Bargains At Each Position For Week 3

Pierre Garcon, WR, Redskins (FanDuel/$5,900, Draft Kings/$5,200): Garcon is a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver at a FLEX price. He’s leading the ‘Skins in targets, and the Giants have shown nothing in pass defense thus far. Ideally, Garcon would be gaining more yardage with so many targets, but that’s why he costs less than $6,000.

Be Careful

Eli Manning, QB, Giants (FanDuel/$8,000, Draft Kings/$7,000): Manning could be a nice play here. Washington’s defense is tough to get a read on. They’ve done well two weeks in a row, but both offenses they faced have question marks. Manning has a higher single-game ceiling than either Ryan Tannehill or Nick Foles, and he could expose Washington’s good start as a fluke. On the flip side, the ‘Skins could be for real, or the Giants may just be another offense finding its way. At these prices, it’s a little expensive to find out.

Shane Vereen, RB, Giants (FanDuel/$6,100, Draft Kings/$4,300): The Redskins have been very tough in the running game, and even better in the passing game, but Vereen is such a unique talent that he may be able to produce no matter who the Giants are facing. He’s not exactly cheap, but of the G-Men running backs he makes the most sense as the one who won’t completely bomb.

Matt Jones, RB, Redskins (FanDuel/$6,400, Draft Kings/$4,000): Jones is everyone’s new darling, but it’d be wise to tap the brakes. He’s clearly a very talented running back, and probably the Redskins’ future at the position. Morris is still there, though, and he isn’t going to disappear. In all this excitement, we must remember Morris is both young, and very good, meaning Jones won’t be particularly relevant without long scoring plays. It’s possible he goes off again vs. the Giants’ weak defense, but he’s not cheap enough for your roster to survive it if he doesn’t.

Stay Away

Rashad Jennings, RB, Giants (FanDuel/$6,200, Draft Kings/$4,700): Jennings’ price tag isn’t prohibitive, but it also isn’t quite a bargain. The Redskins have been top-10 vs. the run, and Jennings shares too much work with Andre Williams and Shane Vereen to be a great play here.

Andre Williams, RB, Giants (FanDuel/$5,400, Draft Kings/$3,200): Don’t let the cheap price fool you, Williams stinks. He is not a dynamic runner, and hoping he falls into the end zone from the one-yard line isn’t worth the potential for a week-ruining doughnut.

Redskins D/ST (FanDuel/$4,100, Draft Kings/$2,700): They might be tempting because of their solid first two weeks and low price, but the Giants’ offense can be explosive. Spend a little more, or find a different cheap one.

Bargain Bin

Rueben Randle, WR, Giants (FanDuel/$5,400, Draft Kings/$4,000): Randle hasn’t done much, but Preston Parker has been cut and Victor Cruz is still out, so he’ll see a jump in targets. One weak spot the Redskins have shown is a No. 23 rank against No. 2 WRs, per FootballOutsiders.com.

Larry Donnell, TE, Giants (FanDuel/$5,400, Draft Kings/$3,100): Tight ends have found a way to produce through two weeks against Washington, and Donnell is a solid pass-catcher. He had a three-touchdown outburst vs. the Redskins last year, and while that’d be tough to predict, it’s hard to argue with the upside at these prices.

Kirk Cousins, QB, Redskins (FanDuel/$6,200, Draft Kings/$5,500): Cousins hasn’t lit up the scoreboard yet in 2015, and this isn’t a bet that he will start tonight. Cousins should be better than serviceable though against New York’s bottom-10 pass defense.
