Is Tony Romo's break also a break for Tim Tebow?

The current SEC Network analyst who looked to have locked up a roster spot before somewhat surprisingly being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles could be a potential player the Cowboys contact for a potential roster spot for the next eight or so weeks, Pro Football Talk reported.

Romo suffered a broken left clavicle during the Cowboys' 20-10 win over the Eagles on Sunday. Brandon Weeden is the only other quarterback on Dallas' 45-man roster.

"The reality for the Cowboys is that there aren't a lot of other options," according to Pro Football Talk.

Matt Barkley Trade Give Tebow Great Chance To Make Eagles Roster

"Christian Ponder, a first-round pick in 2011, is the biggest name on the open market. A certain SEC Network employee (Tebow) also is available, as is Jason Campbell, Matt Flynn, Rex Grossman, Josh Johnson, and Jordan Palmer."

The Cowboys have two quarterbacks on their practice roster in Kellen Moore and Jameill Showers, who almost made the roster as a special teams player.

Fox broadcaster Joe Buck also brought up Tebow's name during the game, the Dallas Morning News reported. Analyst Troy Aikman, "responded that they might have to beat the Eagles to him."

Tebow has not played in the league since 2012 when he played 12 games with the Jets, including two starts. He is credited with an 8-6 record as a starter. He tried out with the Patriots in 2013 but was cut.

After not getting an opportunity in 2014, Tebow showed up in the Eagles' camp and was in a battle with Matt Barkley for the No. 3 spot. The Eagles traded Barkley to the Cardinals, seemingly securing a spot for Tebow.

But the Eagles, like the Cowboys, decided to retain only two quarterbacks on their 45-man roster and did not offer Tebow a position on their practice roster.
