Fans planning on using mass transit to get to the Vikings' home-opener on Sunday may be in for a rude awakening.

The group "Black Lives Matter Saint Paul" has divulged their intentions to shut down the light rail Sunday morning prior to the Vikings hosting the Lions at TCF Bank Stadium. The game is slated to kick-off at noon local time.

The group is banding together to end "white supremacy and the status quo" in the wake of an Aug. 31 incident. Marcus Abrams, 17, was beaten by a group of Metro Transit police officers and sustained multiple seizures as a result. Abrams and his mother will join the contingent in its attempts to shut down the rail.

"Sunday September 20th is the Minnesota Vikings' home opener, big money day, so what better day to shut the light rail down and disrupt business as usual," the "Black Lives Matter Saint Paul" initiative said in a press release, according to Fox 9 News in Minnesota. "Enough is enough of business as usual! We must bring an end to white supremacy and the status quo."

The organizers are using the hashtag #BlackRail for Sunday's protest, which is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. local time. The light rail Green Line functions along University Avenue, including stops at the University of Minnesota campus, where the Vikings (0-1) will play the Lions (0-1).

Minnesota's season got off to a bumpy start when it fell to the 49ers, 20-3, on "Monday Night Football." Now, the team comes home to some controversy.

Black Lives Matter was also debated by two players that are teammates on the gridiron as Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Michael Bennett offered different takes on the movement, according to Deadspin.

Black Lives Matter Saint Paul revealed on Facebook their plans for taking their movement to the light rail.
