Cristiano Ronaldo will be departing Real Madrid at season's end, per Le 10 Sport. The rumor that refuses to die has been given new life. Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and -- this is the outlandish part -- a slew of MLS sides will be in contention for his signature in 2016.

Cristiano Ronaldo Hat-Trick Highlights Champions League Matchday 1

"I think that Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season," French journalist Frederic Hermel said, per Metro. "I have information that confirms this.

"I've been told by strong sources, very important ones, that Manchester, Paris Saint-Germain and the MLS have a great chance of fighting over Cristiano Ronaldo's services at the end of the season."

Clearly, Hermel hasn't paid attention to Florentino Perez's comments following a failed bid from PSG.

"In the case of Cristiano, it's €1,000 million [£725m]," Perez said when asked about a €150 million bid, per ESPN FC. "If they don't pay that, they don't want him. Whenever I've wanted a player, I've gone for him paying the release clause."

Given Perez's proclamation, the inclusion of MLS in the report is risible at best. This is the same league that couldn't even convince Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez to accept a $10 million annual paycheck.

Don't expect Ronaldo to do the opposite.
