Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Justin Bieber are full-on buddies at this point, so since Andre Berto couldn’t beat Mayweather inside the ring, he’s taking shots at him – and his entourage – in the media. Little does Berto know, his efforts to shout out his own music industry pal Chris Brown ended up coming out all wrong.

When TMZ’s reporter caught up with Berto as he arrived in Los Angeles, he referenced Bieber and Brown’s love of sparring. The TMZ reporter asked Berto who would win in a boxing match between the music heavy-hitters, and Berto’s response was unfortunate.

“Can’t compare it man. Justin’s too small, and my man Chris got some hands,” Berto said. “Trust me Chris would work him. He’s a Virginia boy and he got a little bit of that country grit to him. You guys sleep on Chris because he’s an R&B singer, but Chris’ll beat your ass.”

That is a layup for Brown's detractors to bring up his infamous domestic violence incident involving Rihanna.

Berto wasn’t too small for Mayweather on Sept. 12, but he was not strong enough to hurt him, nor quick enough even hit him. Mayweather’s defense befuddled Berto, who landed a paltry 17 percent of his punches over the course of a 12-round, unanimous decision loss. After the fight Berto credited Mayweather with being a master of defense. As time went on, he changed his tune a bit and released frustration with Mayweather’s tactics.

"I didn't know I was gonna have to wear track shoes. I had to do a lot of chasing.”
