Lamar Odom stands in the way of a James Harden marriage proposal to Khloe Kardashian. An NBA championship stands in the way of the couple starting a family.

That's what a source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com.

"James is in love with Khloe and is really all in with the relationship with her, as well," the insider tells HollywoodLife.com. "He really believes they will be married, but he doesn't want to pop the question because she is apprehensive about marriage with the fallout from Lamar [Odom]. But they have definitely talked about babies and they want one with each other. But Khloe knows that James wants an NBA Championship first. That's his first priority."

That may be the one out for Harden. Yes, the Rockets advanced to the Western Conference Finals in 2014-15, but the team has to contend with the world champion Warriors -- to whom Houston lost in the Western finals.

But the Spurs, who signed LaMarcus Aldridge and David West to join a team that already has Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard, look to be vastly improved and the biggest challenger to the Warriors in 2015-16.

And don't forget about LeBron James and the Cavaliers. Harden may have a couple of years before he breaks through in the NBA Finals.

A relationship between Harden and Kardashian was discovered in June when the two were spotted together in Honolulu. The two have been going strong ever since. Kardashian was Harden's guest at former teammate Russell Westbrook's wedding, and she threw a lavish birthday party on his boat in Marina Del Ray, Calif.
