Aaron Hernandez Lawyers Proclaim Innocence, Excitement For Arraignment September 6th [VIDEO]

Attorneys for Aaron Hernandez insist they are eagerly awaiting his Sept. 6 arraignment on first-degree murder charges in the killing of Odin Lloyd, intimating that it will finally provide them with the platform they need in achieving vindication.

"There has been an incredible rush to judgment in this case," lead attorney Michael Fee told CBS News. “It is at bottom a circumstantial case. It is not a strong case. “We are looking forward to cross-examining witnesses and their credibility.”

Almost two weeks from the day since he was formally indicted for the crime, Hernandez will officially have his charges read against him and be allowed to enter a plea during proceedings slated to be held at the Bristol County (Mass.) Clerk of Court, CBS reported.

Hernandez, 23, is currently being held without bail and relegated to solitary confinement after being taken into custody in late June after police found Lloyd’s bullet-riddled body less than a mile from his North Attleborough mansion.

The arraignment will mark the third time the former New England Patriots tight end has gone before a judge since being taken into custody. He was originally scheduled for a court date in July before a judge granted the prosecution a 30-day continuance in a probable cause hearing. Hernandez also appeared before the court during official indictment proceedings.

Hernandez is also still being investigated in connection with an unsolved 2012 double slaying in Boston, CBS has previously reported.
