Coming off of an injury-plagued season, Kevin Durant has no shortage of confidence that he's "the best player in the world."

Durant made an appearance in Spain to give an update on his injury and his thoughts on the Thunder heading into the new season. The 6-foot-9, 240 pound small forward was limited to just 27 games last season due to foot injuries, just one year after being named the league MVP.

Coming into the new campaign, not only is Durant confident he'll be healthy enough to play, he still thinks he'll be the best.

"I'm looking forward to having a good season," Durant said, "and yes, I'm still the best player in the world."

Oklahoma City had a nightmarish campaign without the league's MVP gracing the court every night in 2014-15, missing the playoffs entirely after reaching the Western Conference finals the year before. Though the Thunder finished 45-37 and ninth in the conference last season, Durant is confident they'll turn it around in 2015-16.

"I think we have a really good team," Durant said. "We have to come together and play as one and that's harder than people realize. But, we're ready to take on the challenge. You know we're under the radar right now, exactly where we want to be."

As for the foot that plagued him, the six-time All-Star insisted that he'll be good to go when the season tips off Oct. 28 against the defending NBA champion Spurs.

"Well I've been rehabbing, you know I'm cleared to play," Durant said. "I'm 100 percent healthy and I've just been in the gym, man just trying to get better and trying to get this foot healthy. I'm just looking forward to next season. I miss playing the game, I miss competing, I miss my teammates, I miss Thunder Arena. I miss everything about the NBA. So, I'm excited to get back and hopefully it's a great year for us."
