Happy news out of the U.K.! Robin Deakin, of Crawley, Great Britain, ended a 51-fight losing streak that spanned nine years, when he defeated Deniss Kornilovs at York Hall in London. The man who has been dubbed “Britain’s Worst Boxer,” thanked his haters for the motivation.
"I'm a fighter. I'm going to fight my way back to the top—you'll see," Deakin said. It’s worth noting that Deakin did win his first professional fight before embarking on an almost impressive run of futility.
"All those people that called me Britain's worst boxer can eat their words—they just made me punch harder," Deakin said. "People saying I'm the worst made me stronger. I did everything different this time and worked my hardest—and it showed. ... I'm over the moon."

Forgive him for not acting like he’s been there before—it’s kind of like he hasn’t. He seems like he’s done with the British fight fans too, choosing an American icon as a representation of himself.
