John Daly collapsed during a golf tournament in Mississippi on Saturday, but that didn't stop him from returning the very next day to smoke cigarettes and play another round.

Daly, 49, fell to the ground at the 18th hole and had to be rushed to the hospital, where he was later diagnosed with a collapsed lung, according to multiple reports. Despite the diagnosis, which stems from a rib injury he suffered in 2007, according to the Associated Press, he was right back out there on Sunday, smoking and swinging away.

David Brandt of the AP has the photographic evidence to prove it:

Despite his triumphant return, Saturday provided the backdrop to a scary scene. Daly was battling the heat all day during the tournament, until finally he couldn't take any more of it. His partner, Will Dottley, later explained the frantic ordeal.

"I had my arm around him when he went down," Dottley told the Golf Channel, adding a nurse on the scene provided CPR. "He had no pulse and wasn't breathing for close to three minutes. It was kind of a miracle."

Upon returning to the course, Daly revealed that he had his right hand heavily taped on Sunday after he injured it while changing the tire on his son's golf cart. The heavy tape mixed with the rib injury that has caused him breathing problems for over eight years caused the golfer to pass out.

"I had to change my swing some to get a good grip and the doctor said the changed motion is likely what led to the collapsed lung," Daly told AP.

Despite a health scare, the 1991 PGA champion went back to his two favorite things Sunday: cigarettes and golf.
