What's worse than a Macklemore music video? Old athletes trying to remain relevant by making cameo appearances in music videos.

Unfortunately, both terrifying thoughts merged on Thursday.

Mets Mania Upsetting Fans At Road Ball Parks

At the 1:43 mark in Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' new single, "Downtown," Ken Griffey Jr. appears dressed eerily similar to his famous 1989 Upper Deck rookie baseball card. Complete with a yellow "S" hat and gold-chain necklaces, The Kid smiles at the camera before catching a fish at Pike Place market.

Griffey makes a second appearance nearing the end of the video—the 4:01 mark—riding a motorbike with 1980s-styled hair.

Steven Matz Close To Returning To Mets Rotation

This is how far one baseball's most iconic figures has fallen, associating himself with Macklemore. The Seattle-born "rapper" is the worst thing to happen to hip-hop since Cam'ron told 60 minutes he wouldn't snitch on a hypothetical serial killer, even if he lived next door.

Admittedly, the commentary is tongue-in-cheek. Griffey's cameo was to be expected. Macklemore made his affection for the 45-year-old known in his 2011 release "My Oh My."

"Break out the rye bread! It's grand salami time!
"My, oh my! Another victory!
"Yes. My city, my city.
"Childhood, my life watchin' Griffey right under those lights."

None of it rhymed, a prerequisite for any respectable hip-hop record, but it did point to Macklemore's love for Griffey and all things Seattle Mariners. The video for "Downtown" can be seen in its entirety below.
