Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET on Spike TV Bellator 141 will get underway, with Brandon Girtz (11-4) vs. Melvin Guillard (32-14) headlining in a lightweight feature bout. Live stream the matchup free by clicking this link. View the full fight card here

Girtz is 30 and Guillard is 32, but the latter has significantly more experience than the former. Guillard was fighting in the UFC as recently as last year, and has 46 total fights to Girtz's 15. He's also the superior striker in this clash, with 21 of his 32 victories coming by way of knockout. Girtz has just one win by knockout.

Girtz thinks that the negativity that has tailed Guillard at times-as well as the losses that got him booted from the UFC-are a product of a work ethic that doesn't match his talent. Ask Girtz, and he'll tell you he expects his focus to overcome Guillard's talent.

"He's a guy with a ton of potential. He's a good fighter. I kind of feel like he's that guy who went off of his athletic ability and his talents versus hard work," Girtz said.

"Not to say he didn't work hard, but there's a difference. There's a big difference. I've seen plenty of those people in the wrestling room that had all the talent in the world but when you push too hard, they break."

Girtz also believes he is fighting pressure-free, while Guillard has the expectation of his big name to live up to.

"Whatever kind of fighter Melvin comes out there as, he's a name...If he wins, they can play it out as 'Melvin's back.' If I win, I've taken him out; a Bellator veteran put him out."

Prediction: Guillard def. Girtz by TKO (Round 2)
