Russell Wilson backtracked on his endorsement for Recovery Water. Sort of.

The Seahawks quarterback said he didn't suffer a concussion from the hit he took from Packers linebacker Clay Matthews during the NFC Championship Game and isn't claiming that the Reliant Recovery Water, a product he endorses, helped him recover from a concussion.

He is saying, however, that he believes that the brand of water helped prevent a concussion, according to ESPN.

"I didn't have a concussion," Wilson said in response to a Rolling Stone article that included the confusing information. "I guess it was perceived wrong. I did not have a concussion. I was saying that I had been consistently drinking the water for a month and a half -- five, seven times a day. And I was like, 'Man, maybe this stuff is helping me out.'

"I didn't have a head injury, but what I was trying to say is I think it helped prevent it," he said. "I think your brain consists of like 75, 80 percent water, so I think that just being hydrated, drinking the recovery water really does help."

Wilson told Rolling Stone that he banged his head against the Packers, and Pro Football Talk clarified that he was referring to a hit he took from Matthews.

"I banged my head during the Packers game in the playoffs, and the next day I was fine," the Seattle star told the magazine. "It was the water."

"Wilson is an investor in Reliant Recovery Water, a $3-per-bottle concoction with nanobubbles and electrolytes that purportedly helps people recover quickly from workouts and, according to Wilson, injury," Rolling Stone reported.
