Johnny Manziel's elbow issues may be worse than the Browns initially hoped, and are threatening to KO him for the remainder of the preseason. Manziel had been hoping a few days off from throwing would ease the soreness, but the Browns sent him for an MRI when the pain wouldn't subside. The MRI came back negative according to reports.

"We just wanted to confirm there was nothing structural, and that is the case," Browns coach Mike Pettine told ESPN. "The MRI was certainly a positive result." That said, it's unlikely that Manziel will play this weekend vs. the Buccaneers in Week 3 of the preseason, and might be held out of action altogether. Not playing in the preseason essentially ices any slim chance Manziel had of overtaking veteran Josh McCown as the starter.

That brings an interesting question to the forefront: will Manziel manage to play less than the only quarterback in the NFL more polarizing than he is-Tim Tebow?

Manziel, unlike Tebow, is almost assured of a roster spot barring an off-the-field disaster. Tebow is in a life-and-death battle with Matt Barkley for the No. 3 spot in Philadelphia. To put that in perspective, Barkley has thrown 50 career passes, with four picks and no touchdowns. So how would he see the field more than Manziel?

Mike Ditka Says Tim Tebow Is "Good For The Country"

Tebow has a unique skill set that is heavily reliant on running. In short yardage, there aren't many quarterbacks more effective on the ground than he is. The NFL's new extra point rules may incentivize two-point conversions more, and it's in these circumstances Chip Kelly might break out his Tebow toy and give defensive coordinators a headache. In short yardage, even Tebow's limited passing ability can be masked by plays like this:

If Tebow is used in these kinds of gimmicky ways, it's conceivable that he will see more playing time than Manziel, who might never see a single snap behind McCown if he stays healthy. It's fun to think about, but Tebow should worry about making the team first.
