Chicharito Struggling: Javier Hernandez Doesn't Belong At Manchester United, Misses Two Easy Goals [VIDEO]

Not everyone is cut out to compete on the world's biggest stage, especially Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.

The 27-year-old had a rough showing against Club Brugge on Wednesday, missing two easy goals en route to a 4-0 victory. Fortunately for Hernandez, Wayne Rooney and Ander Herrera had already assured Manchester United's return to the Champions League group stage.

Neymar To Manchester United Would Be The End For Chicharito

After subbing on for Herrera in the 64th minute, Hernandez stepped up to take a penalty. It didn't go so well.

Even Steven Gerrard would be proud of that slip. Obviously, manager Louis van Gaal was not amused.

Chicharito, Harry Kane Swap Good For Both Manchester and Tottenham

An opportunity for redemption just 10 minutes later all but sealed his fate.

Hernandez was once the caliber of player that belonged at a club like Manchester United. That's clearly no longer the case.

Consider this: since Hernandez joined United in 2010, he's averaging 0.34 goals per game, per Soccerbase. By comparison, a striker the likes of Alvaro Negredo—the same Alvaro Negredo who failed to make an impact at Manchester City—is averaging 0.40 goals per game.

That's not the type of company you want to keep, let alone be surpassed by.

This is not to say Hernandez is complete rubbish and doesn't deserve to ply his trade in the Premier League. This isn't Jozy Altidore we're talking about. (Altidore finished with just two league goals in 70 career Premier League appearances.) But it's abundantly clear that Hernandez's best days are behind him.

Playing for a West Ham rather than a Manchester United will allow the universe to finally correct itself.
