Lakers guard Nick Young refutes Cris Carter's advice about a fall guy, with a caveat.

Young said that he personally doesn't believe in the advice the NFL Hall of Famer told rookies at a now-infamous rookie symposium in 2014, TMZ Sports reported.

"Man! I don't believe in that," Young said. "I don't have to do that. I love my woman. As a rookie coming in, you need a fall guy if you don't have a girlfriend.

Young, of course, may have a bit of an upper hand on NFL rookies, considering he is engaged to pop superstar Iggy Azalea.

During his session with TMZ, Young referred to a fall guy as somebody a boyfriend could lie to his girlfriend about being the instigator of whatever trouble the boyfriend gets into.

Young apparently didn't mind Azalea's recent dig at him or his team when she appeared on an Australian radio station and talked about his need to practice at his craft. Young was not with Azalea on her trip home as he was in L.A. with the Lakers.

Asked whether Young needed to "practice that bad," Azalea zinged, "He does. I mean, did you see the last season?"

TMZ Sports also recorded Young's reaction as a friend of his tried to get a woman's telephone number. Instead of supporting the friend - or being his "fall guy" Young just watched and laughed as the woman rejected his friend's advances.

Kudos to the Lakers guard for practicing what he preaches.
