As the old adage goes, "you can never go home again." Those words should ring true in European football, especially in the case of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Sweden international will see his contract expire with Paris Saint-Germain in 2016, allowing him to walk to AC Milan on a free transfer next summer. Ibrahimovic spent one-and-a-half seasons with the Rossoneri (2010-12), finishing his tenure with 42 goals. He is already committed for a second go-round according to club president Silvio Berlusconi.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic Eyes Surprise Move
"If PSG want rid of Zlatan, then we have his word. In that case, he would only come to us," Berlusconi said, per ESPN FC. "Ibrahimovic is one of the best players in the world. I am also very excited."
This is where infallible Zlatan committed the first-ever mistake of his career.
3 Transfer Moves Liverpool Must Complete To Contend
Outside of a Champions League title, the 33-year-old has captured every accolade possible in European football. Serie A, La Liga, Eredivisie and Ligue 1 medals all rest on his mantle. Given Milan's downward trajectory, he could win nothing more than a sixth Serie A title.
There are better options at his disposal, chief among them Major League Soccer.

Consider this: at $7 million per year, plus an additional $1 million in marketing rights, Sebastian Giovinco is paid more than any other player in Serie A. The same 5'5" attacking midfielder who could no longer breakthrough Juventus' starting XI is enjoying both his football and his money at Toronto FC.
Giovinco will earn just as much in base salary at Toronto (€6 million net of taxes) as De Rossi- the highest paid player in Serie A

Despite his age, Zlatan can enjoy similar success. Add to that his marketing potential in a location like New York, Chicago or Atlanta, and it's clear the famed striker's next move must be one to MLS.
