USC football representatives are vehemently denying multiple reports that ex-Penn State running back Silas Redd was picked up by hip hop star Snoop Dogg in a limousine upon arriving in Los Angeles last summer.

Redd was a star running back at PSU for his first two collegiate seasons, but decided to bolt Happy Valley in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex-scandal. USC coach Lane Kiffin was among his most eager recruiters, openly wooing him with a private Mercedes jet ride to town and behind-the-scenes introductions to various celebs among other perks.

Now LarryBrownSports.com is reporting a new book titled “Fourth and Long: The Fight for the Soul of College Football,” alleges Kiffin also called in a favor from Snoop Dogg that had him waiting for Redd at the airport in a limo.

“Silas Redd has never met Snoop Dogg, much less received a ride from him in any type of vehicle,” USC officials claim in a released statement. "USC head coach Lane Kiffin picked up Silas from the airport on his recruiting visit.”

As a junior last season, Redd rushed 905 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged 5.4 yards a carry and also caught nine passes, one of them also for a score.
