Kobe Bryant spent the evening with a couple after donating money to his Los Angeles homeless foundation.
According to the L.A. Times, Romina Rosas and her husband, Osbaldo, both met Bryant in a meet and greet after winning the Prizeo’s “Win a Night Out in L.A. With Kobe Bryant” contest. Bryant has long been an advocate of homeless prevention programs in L.A. and had offered the prize as a means of drumming up support for and interest in his foundation.
"First of all, I love Kobe," Rosas , who has two boys aged 6 and 4, told The Times. "We support it just because we live in L.A., and we know how much it's needed."
Rosas admits she and her husband didn't really expect to win the contest when they pledged their donation and she actually almost deleted the notification alerting her of their victory from her email without reading it.
"I checked it off to have it deleted, but something told me to just open it," she said. "It was 5 a.m. and I frantically started screaming, waking my husband up."
The couple was on hand last week’s “Kobe Up Close Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel,” event held at Nokia Theatre All proceeds from the event went to the Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation in partnership with Cedars-Sinai’s Sports Spectacular.
"It's amazing to see how many from different paths of life can come together in such a great way to support a cause that is really important to those in need," said Rosas.
And what’s more, she got to meet Kobe. "I had been dreaming of meeting Kobe since I was 14," she said.
