The second day of the 2015 PGA Championship came to a close on Friday, with inclement weather suspending the round. Jason Day and Matt Jones are currently tied for first at 9-under par.

PGA Championship Round 1 Recap

After finishing the first round at 6-under, Dustin Johnson predictably faltered and is now 1-over par after 14 holes. David Lingmerth is the only Tour member in the top five who entered the clubhouse with a full card.

Tiger Woods

Woods didn’t drop any expletives on Friday, but he managed to drop further in the leaderboard. The former world No. 1 shot a 1-over par 75. Now two off the cut line, Woods is in danger of missing his third consecutive cut in a major championship.

Jordan Spieth

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Jordan Spieth made a run at the leaderboard on Friday. The two-time major champion followed his 71 on Thursday with a potent 5-under 67. Not getting ahead of himself, Spieth is prepared to take the weekend one stroke at a time.

“Wouldn’t look much into it for these first two days, other than we’re just trying to give ourselves a chance to win this golf tournament,” he said, per The New York Times.
