The first day of the 2015 PGA Championship came to a close on Thursday, with Dustin Johnson opening a predictable lead.
PGA Championship Odds And Predictions
David Lingmerth is just one stroke off the pace, while Jason Day, J.B. Holmes and six others finished the day tied for third.
Dustin Johnson
If the PGA Tour awarded titles on Thursdays, Johnson would easily be the most decorated golfer since Jack Nicklaus.
The world No. 6 shot a 65 in the first rounds of the U.S. and British Opens. Thursday brought more of the same, posting a 66 to capture a one-stroke lead. Whether or not he can protect it remains the key to his weekend.

His botched 12-foot putt at the U.S. Open—followed by a four-foot miss to force a playoff—is widely considered one of the worst choke jobs in golf history. Until proven otherwise, Thursday’s opening round is nothing more than a precursor for the inevitable.
Tiger Woods
“What the [expletive] is wrong with you?”
Those are the words Woods uttered to himself just moments before dropping to two-over par through 11 holes. Coincidentally, it’s also the burning question on everyone’s mind since his prolific fall from No. 1.
