Kane, who hoisted the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in June for the third time in his career, was set to grace the cover of the NHL's new video game alongside teammate Jonathan Toews, but that is no longer the case, according to a statement by EA Sports.

Police in Hamburg, N.Y., where Kane makes his offseason residence, have been looking into an alleged incident that occurred in the Blackhawks winger's home on Aug. 2.

Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett confirmed the ongoing investigation last week and it involved a woman in her 20s, according to WGNTV.com.

In light of the incident, Kane will no longer be featured on the cover of the game or in any promotional material as the investigation continues with police gathering information and awaiting forensic results.

Kane has a history of off-ice incidents as he pleaded guilty to a non-criminal violation of disorderly conduct in August 2009 after he was arrested following a dispute with a cab driver in Buffalo.

The 2007 No. 1 overall pick and his cousin were accused by the cab driver of assault and stealing a fare.

In May 2012, Kane was involved in another incident when pictures surfaced of him celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Madison, Wis. Reports then surfaced that Kane was involved in an altercation outside of a bar, but he wasn't arrested.

Kane, 26, had 27 goals and 64 points last season for the Blackhawks and notched 11 markers and 23 points in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
