Odds

Death, taxes, Spieth entering a tournament as the resounding favorite. The two-time major champion opens at +550 according to Bovada. The real surprise comes directly behind Spieth, with McIlroy opening at +900. Not even a two month absence was enough to deter oddsmakers. Woods enters the weekend at a more modest +4000.

Prediction

Not far behind Spieth and McIlroy according to oddsmakers is Jason Day (+1200). The 27-year-old is still attempting to shake the tag of being the best player in the game without a major. Fully healthy, Day has been competitive in the three majors this season: T-28th, T-9th and T-4th.

With an upward trajectory, Sunday will finally be his day. (No pun intended).
