While Eagles fans turn to Pope Francis for a miracle, they may have overlooked another miracle-worker, backup quarterback Tim Tebow.

Jets QB Geno Smith Laughs At Being Lowest Ranked QB In Poll

Not willing to take any chances on Sam Bradford's oft-injured knee, Eagles fans have created a petition on Change.org in hopes of getting Pope Francis to bless the signal caller's knee when he visits Philadelphia in September, according to NJ.com.

"The Pope is coming to Philly! Our city! With this Eagles season coming up, a lot of our Super Bowl hopes rely on Sam Bradford's knees staying healthy," the petition reads. "So, with one of the most religious representatives in the world visiting our wonderful place we call home, how about we get him to bless Bradford's knees during his visit to Philly! This town deserves a Super Bowl, and a healthy Bradford is the only way we will have a parade down Broad Street! Please sign this petition and Go Eagles and Welcome to Philly, Pope Francis!!!!"

Thus far, the petition has generated over 700 supporters, but perhaps if Bradford's balky knee has yet another setback, the Eagles can turn to Tebow.

After all, some of Tebow's success on the field can only be attributed to a higher power as some of the magical ways he's won on the gridiron in the past could only happen through divine intervention.

Who could forget Tebow's miraculous 80-yard touchdown pass to on the first play of overtime to give the Broncos a 29-23 victory over the Steelers in the 2011 playoffs?

The game has since been christened the "3:16 Game" due to Tebow's miraculous maneuvering to cap a play of seemingly biblical proportions.

Though Tebow has had a tumultuous history in the NFL since working those miracles, Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur had some positive things to say about him during training camp.

"I think (Tim is) a little bit of a gamer," Shurmur said per NJ.com. "In these team settings, which are a little bit uncontrolled, he gets out there and makes plays."

While most Eagles fans would understandably prefer Bradford, they could very well have a heaven-sent quarterback waiting in the wings. Then again, as "Jesus" pointed out on "Saturday Night Live," maybe not.
